Not Knowing - Toes (Demo)

Exactly where have we been
Exactly where are we going
The water is rising
This feeling, not knowing
But I feel the sand between my toes
And I feel the sand between my toes

The birds float without end
Come rest.
Come be my friend.
Come be mine without end
Endless spiral with no end
And I feel the sand between my toes
Then I feel the sand between my toes

Exactly where have we been
Exactly where are we going
The water is rising
This feeling, not knowing
But I feel the sand between my toes
And I feel the sand between my toes

The birds float without end
Come rest.
Come be my friend.
Come be mine without end
Endless spiral with no end
And I feel the sand between my toes
Then I feel the sand between my toes

Exactly where have we been
Exactly where are we going
The water is rising
This feeling, not knowing
But I feel the sand between my toes
And I feel the sand between my toes

The birds float without end
Come rest.
Come be my friend.
Come be mine without end
Endless spiral with no end
And I feel the sand between my toes
Then I feel the sand between my toes

Windmills of your mind

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that’s turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it’s face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it’s own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it’s face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Work in Progress

Project Black, Windmills of Your Mind (Demo 2)

The vocals aren’t right and I’m working on memorizing this song. It’s a cover of song orginally performed by Noel Harrison with music by Michel Legrand, and English lyrics by Alan Bergman and Marilyn Bergman from the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair. The French lyrics were penned by Eddy Marnay.

Nermal

It’s the coldest night in history
That I can remember
Your not home to greet me
Your songs did not fall on my ears
My body shook my head tumbled
My tears fell to the floor
I was not dressed and ran out the door
calling your name I wondered these dark streets
alone in fear that you may never return
never see your wide eyes
looking back into mine
I’d have to sleep alone
and cold with out you by my side
I’d have to face life and I died alittle inside
without you I am a shell of myself
without you I can feel nothing else

I call your name into the wilds
the trees cry with me
the wind is restless
and the breeze hits me
the moon is lost
will it ever be the same
will you hear me call your name

it’s the coldest night in history
that I can remember
why did you run away
like so many times before
I fear this is the last
the one that you never return
my body shook my head tumbled
my tears fell to the floor
it’s the coldest night in history
that I can remember

I call your name into the wilds
the trees cry with me
the wind is restless
and the breeze hits me
the moon is lost
will it ever be the same
will you hear me call your name

it’s the coldest night in history
that I can remember
will it ever be the same
will you hear me call your name
I wonder down the road back and forth
like a child who’s lost it’s mother
like a sock with out a partner
like a hammer with out a nail
I serve no purpose with out you
no reason to go on
you glue me together make me whole
you fix me in place keep me living
I can not stand these times
when you escape my embrace
I can not face the day with out you
wide eyes glaring back into mine
your soft words
how you always talk to me
push against me
sleep next to me

I call your name into the wilds
the trees cry with me
the wind is restless
and the breeze hits me
the moon is lost
will it ever be the same
will you hear me call your name

it’s the coldest night in history
that I can remember
I return to our home
lay in your bed
wide awake
wondering where you are
what you are doing
if your safe tonight
I watch the bubbles rise
from my chest
hot itchy and hurting
why did I open my doors to you
why did I let you in my heart
I feel at unrest
ankle to shoulder scalp
so upset with me, so upset with you

I call your name into the wilds
the trees cry with me
the wind is restless
and the breeze hits me
the moon is lost
will it ever be the same
will you hear me call your name

It was the coldest night in history
that I could remember
now Six thirty nine
hear you out my door
Calling my name
asking me to let you in
I crawl from our bed
eyes tired and puffy
heart heavy but lifted
sliding down the steps to the door
you in your dirty gray coat
smile on your face
happy to see me
words a flutter
wide eyes and free
come lay next to me

It was the coldest night in history
that I could remember
I called your name into the wilds
the trees laugh with me
the wind is at rest
and the breeze is gone
the moon is in bed
will it always be this way
did you hear me call your name
It was the coldest night in history
that I could remember
